Our Story
About Ben
Hi I’m Ben, I’m a outdoor addict, who’s never really outgrown the wild.
I grew up in and around the woodlands and waterways of Kent, where I spent my younger years exploring the outdoors — fishing, kayaking, climbing trees, out in all kinds of weather. That love for the outdoors grew further when I moved to Cornwall as a teenager, spending many a night under the stars in the school holidays at a local farm on the banks of the River Fowey.
These days, you’ll often find me hiking the coast path, camping under open skies, fishing, or swimming in the sea — rain or shine. I’ve always believed the outdoors should be experienced in all seasons, and that some of the best memories are made when you’re a bit muddy, windswept, or sea-soaked.
I’ve also been proud to volunteer with the local search and rescue team, putting my passion and knowledge to good use helping others in need.
Trails & Tide is my way of sharing that connection — encouraging others to get outside, embrace the adventure, and find their own wild places. Whether it’s a coastal walk, a quiet paddle, or just learning how to pack a proper kit, this is a space for anyone who believes nature isn’t just a place to visit — it’s where we belong
Our Core Values
🌿 1. Inclusivity in Nature
Nature is for everyone — all backgrounds, all abilities, all weather.
We believe the outdoors should be open, welcoming, and accessible.
Whether you’re a seasoned explorer or just lacing up your boots for the first time, there’s a place for you on the trail, in the water, or under the open sky.
🧭 2. Adventure with Purpose
Challenge yourself, learn something, and grow — every step, every splash.
We’re here to inspire real experiences — not just scenic views, but meaningful moments.
From quiet reflection to adrenaline-fueled days, we embrace the full spectrum of outdoor adventure.
🌦️ 3. Respect the Wild
Leave no trace, tread lightly, and stay curious.
We care deeply about the landscapes we explore.
That means protecting them, understanding them, and passing on the knowledge and respect that keeps wild spaces wild for future adventurers.
